What You’ll Do




  • Provide physician leadership as a Hospice Medical Director (MD/DO) across assigned regions, ensuring high-quality, patient-centered hospice and palliative care

  • Certify and recertify hospice eligibility in compliance with CMS Conditions of Participation (CoPs) and accreditation standards

  • Partner with the Hospice Medical Director to ensure consistent clinical standards, physician coverage, and regulatory compliance

  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team (IDG) to guide care planning, symptom management, and end-of-life care decisions

  • Deliver direct patient care and consultations across settings (home, hospital, long-term care, inpatient hospice)

  • Supervise and mentor hospice physicians and nurse practitioners (NPs) to drive clinical excellence

  • Lead quality and compliance efforts, including QAPI initiatives and survey readiness

  • Serve as a clinical resource to providers, staff, and community partners to support hospice utilization and education



What You’ll Bring




  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school

  • Board certified or board eligible in Hospice & Palliative Medicine, Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Geriatrics

  • Active, unrestricted physician license (multi-state licensure a plus)

  • 2+ years of experience in hospice, palliative care, or end-of-life care

  • Prior experience as a Medical Director, Associate Medical Director, or physician leader preferred

  • Strong knowledge of CMS hospice regulations, CoPs, and accreditation standards (ACHC or Joint Commission)

  • Experience with quality improvement (QAPI), compliance, and survey readiness

  • Proven ability to lead across multiple sites and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams

  • Excellent communication skills with patients, families, clinicians, and healthcare partners

  • Commitment to compassionate, high-quality hospice and palliative care
