Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive and commercially driven Strategic Purchaser – Indirect Procurement (m/f/d) to support the development and standardization of indirect procurement processes, tools, and governance frameworks across all NACOS regions.
In this role, you will own and drive indirect category strategies and sourcing initiatives in close collaboration with the Manager Global Indirect Procurement. You will contribute to value creation, risk mitigation, supplier performance, and sustainability initiatives while working closely with stakeholders across multiple business functions and regions.
Indirect procurement categories in scope include MRO, Facilities, Logistics Services, Professional Services, IT/Software & Telecom, Travel & Fleet, Marketing, Utilities/Energy, Packaging, and HR services.
The preferred work location for this position can be Hamburg, Germany; Hørsholm, Denmark; or Diano d’Alba, Italy.Key Responsibilities
Global Category Strategy
- Develop and implement global category strategies for indirect spend across regions and business units
- Identify synergies and supplier consolidation opportunities to optimize cost, quality, and service levels
- Support standardization and scalability of procurement processes and governance frameworks globally
- Lead sourcing activities including RFI, RFP, and RFQ processes as well as supplier negotiations
- Apply cost modelling and benchmarking methodologies to improve total cost of ownership
- Support process automation and optimization through e-procurement platforms, catalogue management, and system improvements
- Establish and maintain supplier relationship management frameworks including KPIs, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Drive supplier innovation, sustainability, and performance management activities across the global supplier base
- Collaborate closely with regional and functional stakeholders including IT, HR, Finance, Operations, and Supply Chain teams
- Act as a change agent for procurement best practices, compliance, and process improvements across the organization
- Negotiate and manage global framework agreements and supplier contracts
- Ensure governance and compliance throughout the supplier onboarding and contract lifecycle management processes
- Maintain alignment between Procurement and business functions regarding responsibilities and processes
- Monitor and report procurement KPIs including cost savings, supplier performance, contract coverage, and compliance
- Ensure accurate data management within ERP, P2P, and procurement systems
- Support continuous improvement and standardization of procurement reporting and analytics
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Procurement, or a related field
- Professional certification or formal training in procurement or supply chain management is considered an advantage
- Proven experience in strategic procurement with ownership of category strategies and sourcing initiatives
- Strong knowledge of category management, supplier negotiations, and strategic sourcing methodologies
- Experience working with ERP/P2P systems, eSourcing platforms, and procurement analytics tools
- Strong commercial mindset and analytical capabilities with advanced Excel skills
- Ability to manage complex international stakeholder environments across regions, cultures, and time zones
- Strong communication, negotiation, and influencing skills
- Structured, proactive, and solution-oriented working style
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken; additional languages are considered an advantage
- Willingness to travel internationally as required
