Clinical Supervisor (SUD Outpatient Clinic)

Location: Manhattan, NY, with travel to Bronx and Queens as needed

Position Overview

The Clinical Supervisor is a key leadership role responsible for supporting clinical staff, maintaining high standards for documentation and compliance, and promoting quality care across the program. Reporting directly to the Clinical Director, this individual will provide supervision, guidance, and accountability to clinicians while helping to strengthen workflows, staff performance, and overall clinical operations.

This role is ideal for a strong clinical leader who can balance support and accountability, foster professional growth, and contribute to a positive, high-performing team culture.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Oversight & Documentation

· Review, approve, and sign off on clinical documentation, including assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes

· Ensure documentation meets regulatory, clinical, and agency standards for accuracy, timeliness, and person-centered care

· Monitor compliance with documentation deadlines and follow up with staff as needed

· Maintain high standards for quality assurance and clinical record integrity

Staff Supervision & Development

· Provide regular supervision, coaching, and support to clinical staff

· Strengthen staff clinical skills, critical thinking, and professional development

· Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement

· Address performance concerns promptly and provide appropriate guidance and follow-up

Program Operations & Productivity

· Monitor clinician productivity and support effective caseload management

· Help ensure staff are using time and resources efficiently in alignment with program expectations

· Identify workflow challenges and recommend or implement practical solutions to improve operations and performance

Leadership & Team Support

· Serve as a clinical resource for staff on complex cases, documentation questions, and day-to-day problem-solving

· Build strong working relationships with team members across locations

· Promote a positive, professional, and mission-aligned team culture

Coordination & Communication

· Collaborate closely with the Clinical Director and interdisciplinary team

· Travel to Bronx and Queens locations, as needed, to support staff and program operations

· Communicate clearly and consistently with leadership regarding staff performance, compliance concerns, and operational needs

Qualifications

· LMSW or LCSW required, active New York State licensure required

· Prior experience in substance use disorder (SUD) treatment strongly preferred

· Previous supervisory, leadership, or senior clinical experience preferred

· Strong knowledge of clinical documentation standards, compliance requirements, and quality assurance practices

· Excellent organizational, communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills

· Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, solve problems effectively, and support team performance
