About the Department

Position is responsible for the weekend cleaning of parks and pavilions. To include litter picking, garbage collection, bathroom and pavilion cleaning.

Position Duties

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Safely operates equipment such as trucks, blowers, utility carts, push mowers, string trimmers, etc.
• Lifts objects above shoulder height up to 50 pounds.
• Performs facility maintenance such as cleaning, sanitizing, sweeping, scraping, painting and sanding.
• Performs vandalism removal on buildings, play equipment, and other areas.
• Performs grounds maintenance such as trash and litter pickup.  Replace trash and recycling can liners.  Planting/flower bed maintenance, weeding etc. 
• Performs playground surface replacement and upkeep.

• Assists full-time staff with various  projects.

Minimum Qualifications

• Ability to operate powered string trimmers, leaf blower, utility carts, pickup trucks.
• Ability to withstand a variety of temperature and weather extremes.
• Ability to understand and effectively carry out oral and written instructions.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers and supervisors. 
• Be able to deal with the public in a courteous and tactful manner.
• Ability to work irregular schedules based on project demand and weather.
• Must provide own steel toed shoes.
• Must possess a valid drivers license.
• Must be at least eighteen years of age.

EMPLOYMENT PERIOD: May - September
WORK SCHEDULE:
Hours per day: Flexible hours between 6:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Saturdays, Sundays, and possible holidays.
Hours per week: Up to 40
