The Assistant Aquatics Manager is responsible for assisting in management of the overall operation of the waterpark, hands-on aquatic work, and administrative duties to provide a safe environment where members and guests of all ages, cultures, and abilities can enjoy the waterpark.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- *Assist in overseeing overall operations, maintenance, and management of waterpark
- *Assist with daily maintenance, organization, setup, testing, and cleanliness of waterpark.
- *Supervises all lifeguards and guest services staff to include assisting the Aquatics Director in matters of assigned areas and responsibilities, discipline, scheduling, and timekeeping.
- *Assist with managing product inventory, ordering, and stocking.
- *Assist with concessions and guest services setup, cash handling and reconciliation.
- *Maintain safe conditions in water, on deck, and surrounding areas, enforcing waterpark and health and safety rules.
- *Prevent accidents by scanning assigned zone from bottom to top and covering zone in compliance with the 10/10 rule.
- *Act as a Lifeguard, Guest Services, or Swim Instructor (Water Safety Instructor) staff member when necessary.
- *Maintain emergency readiness and be ready to respond to emergency situations in accordance with the City of New Albany policies and procedures, completing incidents and accident reports as necessary in a timely manner.
- *Responds to and provides emergency assistance and care/treatment as trained until the arrival of emergency medical services.
- *Control and report unruly behavior and evict patrons not adhering to behavior protocols.
- *Develop rapport and maintain effective relationships with patrons, participants, and co-workers, serving as a main point of contact.
- Provide excellent customer service and a positive work environment for our employee.
- *Assist and maintain accurate daily reports and records.
- *Perform daily staff audits and assist in the evaluation of lead team members.
- *Have superb knowledge and understanding of all Floyd County Health Department rules and regulations and be present during inspections.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

MENTAL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Remain alert and responsive to the needs of patrons and staff.
- Must be able to easily move through all program areas and effectively communicate and actively interact with customers.
- Ability to work individually and as a team member.
- Hear noises and distress signals in the aquatic environment, including in the water and anywhere around the zone of responsibility. Lifeguard candidates should have a minimum hearing threshold of no more than an average of a 25-decibel loss in both ears over a range of frequencies. Candidates who use hearing aids or other corrective devices for hearing should be able to perform all rescue skills and emergency procedures without interruptions to adjust, retrieve, or install or attach a hearing aid or corrective device.

- Stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl frequently.
- Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds frequently.
- Knowledge of basic math.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT AND CONDITIONS
- This position requires working in both an internal and external environment.
- Activities can occur inside and outside; position will be subject to changes in temperature.
- Significant amount of time will be spent working outdoors and in inclement weather (within reason and safety) to include cold, hot, humid, and rain.
- This position requires a flexible work schedule; night and/or weekends and holidays will be required.
- The position involves being in an environment with recreational, aquatic and concession stand equipment.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- 6 months to one (1) year experience in a managerial role.
- Be current in Lifeguarding, including CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, First Aid certification or equivalent.
- Willing to obtain Bloodborne Pathogens training within 30 days of employment.
- Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in written form.
- A pleasant, friendly, and outgoing demeanor.
- Current LGI (Lifeguard Instructor) Certification or the ability to obtain within 60 days of hire, preferred.
- Current American Red Cross Lifeguard Manager Certification or equivalent or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire, preferred.
- Current WSI (Water Safety Instructor) Certification or the ability to obtain within 60 days of hire, preferred.
- Current Serve Safe Food Handler Certification or the ability to obtain within 60 days of hire, preferred.
- Previous Management experience in Aquatics, preferred.
- Experience in food preparation and CPO, preferred.
