    Pattonville School District is seeking a passionate and dedicated Elementary Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will inspire young learners, foster a love of learning, and support students in becoming responsible and engaged citizens.

    Position Summary: The Elementary Teacher is responsible for planning and delivering high-quality instruction aligned with district goals and curriculum standards while creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment that supports the academic, social, and emotional growth of all students.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

    • Designs and delivers curriculum aligned with district goals and instructional standards.
    • Provides high-quality instruction using appropriate instructional materials and strategies to maximize student learning and instructional time.
    • Establishes and maintains a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment that supports whole-group, small-group, and individualized instruction.
    • Monitors and assesses student progress regularly and adjusts instruction to meet individual learning needs.
    • Maintains accurate and timely records of student achievement, progress, and attendance in accordance with district and building requirements.
    • Implements and enforces school and district behavior expectations to promote a positive and effective learning environment.
    • Builds and maintains effective communication with students, parents/guardians, and caregivers to support student success.
    • Collaborates with staff, families, and community partners to support instructional goals and student learning.
    • Participates in staff meetings, professional learning communities, and district/building initiatives.
    • Engages in ongoing professional development to remain current with educational best practices and instructional methodologies.


    Qualifications:

    • Bachelors or masters degree from an accredited college or university.
    • Missouri Elementary K-8 or 1-6 teaching certification       
    • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
    • Commitment to equity, diversity, and student success.


    Additional Duties:

    • Performs other related tasks as assigned by the principal(s).

    Travel Requirements:

    • Travels to school district buildings and professional meetings as required.


    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy, as well as differentiated instruction based on student learning styles.
    • Knowledge of elementary school curriculum and concepts.
    • Ability to use learning software applications as needed.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with students and their parents/guardians.
    • Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth.
    • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others.

    Work Hours: 7.25 hours per day; 5 days per week
     

    Work calendar: 189 days (2026-2027 calendar)

    FLSA Status:   Exempt

    Salary: Commensurate with years of full-time teaching experience. Service credit is awarded on a year-by-year basis, with a maximum of 20 years recognized. (Certified Teacher Salary Schedule 2026-2027)

    Candidates who have signed a contract for the 2026�2027 school year should consult with their current district to confirm eligibility for release prior to applying.
