Primary Purpose:

Provide students identified with dyslexia and related disorders an individualized, intensive, multi-sensory, phonetic instructional program. Deliver evidence based dyslexia instruction (EBDI) to fulfill the requirements of the Texas Dyslexia Handbook (2024 Update) and deliver high quality reading instruction as well as intervention and acceleration for students in need of reading support and ensure students develop the competencies to function successfully in society.

Qualifications: Education/Certification:

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (Master's in Reading Preferred)

• Valid Texas Teaching Certificate (elementary certification preferred)

• HB3 Texas Reading Academy completion (preferred but required within one year of hire)

• Provider of Dyslexia Instruction (PDI) Training: Must be fully trained in the district’s adopted EBDI materials (e.g., Reading by Design, Take Flight) preferred

• Experience screening students for Dyslexia and related Disorders preferred

• Advanced Certifications: Certified Academic Language Therapist (CALT), Practitioner (CALP), or Licensed Dyslexia Therapist (LDT), and Reading Specialist preferred
