The Technical Sales Manager – Quartz Materials is responsible for the sales of Tosoh SGM materials in the Americas and Europe, and for identifying new material opportunities and qualifying Tosoh SGM products at customers and semiconductor manufacturing equipment manufacturers. The position is located in West Coast Area. This position is classified as full-time and exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

Reporting Relationships | ||||
This position reports to the Vice President, Corporate Planning.
Major Duties and Responsibilities |
- Manage the sale of Tosoh SGM materials in the Americas and Europe
- Guide and support the Europe sales agent
- Provide technical support and guidance to customers
- Interact with existing and potential customers to identify and develop new opportunities
- Interact at the strategic and technical level with semiconductor manufacturing equipment makers to identify new opportunities and qualify materials
- Follow the competitive landscape of the semiconductor industry and Quartz suppliers
- Align with the Tosoh Japan team on marketing and strategy
- Train and support the customer service team
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, ensuring the continuous growth of the sales pipeline.
- Regular travel for customer visits, trade shows, and business development activities (US and overseas locations). And preparing reports related to these activities.
- Determine and regularly update appropriate stock levels to allow for a timely response to business opportunities while avoiding excess stock and slow turnaround.
- Prepare budgets, forecasts, business presentations and monthly reports.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education |
- Minimum education level is a bachelor’s degree in Material Science, Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
Skills and Qualifications |
- Five or more years of technical sales experience with a Quartz company or experience working with Quartz at an equipment maker.
- Good understanding of the semiconductor front-end processes and their challenges
- Good understanding of materials properties.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate and coordinate across organizational and cultural boundaries.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
Physical Requirements |
This position requires a certain level of domestic travel and occasional international travel.
This is primarily a sedentary job that requires:
- Mobility & Posture: Ability to remain in a stationary position (sitting or standing) for prolonged periods, with occasional movement within the office to access files, equipment, or attend meetings.
- Manual Dexterity: Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, writing, operating office equipment (e.g., computer, phone, copier, scanner).
- Vision: Ability to read printed materials and view information on a computer screen for extended periods, with or without corrective lenses.
- Hearing & Speech: Ability to hear and respond to verbal communication in person and via telephone or virtual platforms; clear speech for effective communication.
- Environmental Conditions: Work is performed in a climate-controlled office environment with moderate noise levels from office equipment and conversations.
- Lifting & Carrying: Ability to lift, carry, and move office supplies or equipment weighing up to 20 lbs. occasionally.
- Reaching & Bending: Occasional reaching above shoulder level, bending, or stooping to retrieve or store materials.
