Job Description

Employment Status: Part-time, as needed


FLSA Status:  Exempt


Calendar: Temporary (specified dates and times in July and August)


Experience Required: Three (3) years work experience in customer service, data management, or related fields.


Minimum Education Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent, with a bachelor’s degree preferred.  


Department: Student Services


Direct Supervisor: Assistant Superintendent of Student and Special Services


Supervisory Responsibility: Direct (0); Indirect (0)


Primary Work Location: District Administrative Office

Job Summary: The Residency Support Specialist is responsible for verifying and supporting the registration and residency verification process and procedures within the school district.  They will manage the Online Registration Process (OLR) applications, verify submitted information and documentation, verify residency, and provide support to parents, guardians, students and district staff regarding residency requirements and procedures.  


 


 


Essential Job Functions


An employee in this position may be called upon to do any or all of the following essential duties:



  • Receive and review online registration applications, verify submitted information and documents, and ensure students meet residency requirements.

  • Provide information, guidance, and support to parents, guardians, student and staff regarding registration and enrollment procedures, residency policies, and any related questions or concerns.

  • Maintain accurate records of student residency information, update student information systems (e.g., Infinite Campus) with relevant data, and generate reports as needed.



  • Ensure compliance with all relevant board policies regarding student residency and enrollment. 

  • Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, students, and staff, explaining policies and procedures clearly, and resolving any issues or inquiries in a timely and professional manner. 



  • Develop and maintain positive woking relationships with staff and community members.



  • Other duties as assigned


 


 


Knowledge



  • Knowledge of school district policies and procedures related to the online registration (OLR) process, residency requirements, and enrollment procedures is necessary.


 


Skills



  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).

  • Proficiency in using computer software, including student information systems, email and basic computer applications.

  • Ability to work independent and collaboratively.

  • Ability to operate a variety of office equipment, including computer, phone, printer, copier, and scanner.

  • Working with teachers, administrators, and other district staff as a collaborator.

  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal and customer service skills.

  • Lift up to 25 pounds.

  • Effectively welcome and embrace differences among employees and citizens.

  • Must able to successfully complete a background investigation.

  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule as needed.
