Job Description

Summary

The Technical Support & Application Engineer is responsible for providing technical support, application training, installation, calibration, troubleshooting, and repair for Hexagon MI measurement systems—including CMMs, Vision systems, and other metrology equipment. The role also supports technical sales activities with demonstrations, application studies, and customer training, ensuring high customer satisfaction and contributing to business growth.

Job Responsibilities

1. Installation, Calibration & Maintenance

  • Install, set up, and configure CMM, Vision, and metrology systems at customer sites.
  • Conduct pre-installation site surveys to assess environmental, power, and space requirements.
  • Perform calibration, verification, and testing according to Hexagon MI standards.
  • Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance, including component replacement.

2. Troubleshooting & Technical Support

  • Diagnose hardware, software, performance, and measurement accuracy issues.
  • Conduct root-cause analysis and provide corrective action solutions.
  • Provide remote technical support.
  • Maintain accurate service documentation and reports.

3. Application Engineering & Customer Training

  • Conduct training on metrology software and machine operations.
  • Prepare demos, application studies, and training modules.
  • Provide CMM and Vision programming training.

4. Customer Engagement & Technical Sales Support

  • Support sales with demos, trials, and technical presentations.
  • Assist with customized contract inspection programs.
  • Maintain strong customer service and support.

Qualifications

Education:

    • Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, or relevant field.

Technical Skills:

    • Knowledge of metrology, GD&T, and inspection processes.
    • Experience with CMMs, Vision systems, CNC, CAD/CAM is an advantage.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office and PC-based tools.

Soft Skills:

    • Strong communication and presentation skills.
    • Analytical, customer-oriented, proactive, and self‑motivated.
    • Able to work independently and in teams.

Other Requirements:

    • Possess own car and able to travel domestically up to 70%.
