- Must have working knowledge of custodial duties
- Must have a knowledge of janitorial supplies that have to be used in their work
- Must have some basic mechanical ability
- Some previous custodial experience
- To check grounds and facilities for damage and/or repairs needed.
- To mop, wax and buff floors as needed and directed including restroom facilities.
- To fill dispensers with towels, soaps and toilet tissue.
- To clean windows and mirrors as needed.
- To replace broken windows when needed.
- To replace light bulbs as needed.
- To turn out lights as required to conserve energy
- To dispose of paper, garbage and trash.
- To remove all spots and stains as necessary This should be done daily.
- To wash and dry and dust cleaning equipment as needed.
- To help set up chairs and tables as needed for meetings and other activities.
- To know location and use of all fire fighting equipment.
- To lock doors and windows to assure building security before leaving.
- To report to assistant head custodian or head custodian any maintenance problem noticed.
- To report to assistant head custodian or head custodian any unauthorized people who may be in the building after building is closed. Do not let unauthorized people in building.
- To perform other duties as assigned by the Director or Assistant Director or Supervisor of Operations, Principal or Supervising Administrator or Head Custodian or Assistant Head Custodian.
