As a Die Designer, you�ll play a vital role in designing extrusion dies and gages for inspecting parts for producing high-strength structural components used in aerospace applications worldwide. This is a hands-on opportunity to contribute to a mission that literally helps the world take flight.

Responsibilities

  • Exercise and promote safety in all activities.
  • Receive pre-sale quote requests and customer prints from Sales department.
  • Review all customer prints and requirements for producibility, applying advanced engineering principles.
  • Enter all required information into the UAC Engineering System.
  • Produce, mill, master, and first article prints for production.
  • Design secondary tooling gauges, stretcher, and rework tooling using SolidWorks and other engineering tools.
  • Conduct engineering analysis, including FEA, to ensure tooling integrity and manufacturability.
  • Maintain inventory of tooling and recommend improvements to optimize production efficiency.
  • Exercise independent judgment and discretion in tooling design, material selection, and process decisions impacting cost, quality, and delivery.
  • Develop a working knowledge of shop floor process flow through direct exposure and apply that knowledge to improve die design, tooling performance, and manufacturability.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor�s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required, or equivalent relevant experience required.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of CAD/Drafting and/or machine shop experience; SolidWorks experience preferred; FEA analysis a plus.
  • Certifications: None required; SolidWorks certification a plus.
  • Physically able to stand, bend, reach, climb, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
