Colonial Behavioral Health provides opportunities for recovery to individuals and their family members in the areas of mental illness, substance use disorder, and developmental disabilities. Colonial Behavioral Health serves the citizens of James City County, City of Poquoson, City of Williamsburg, and York County.
We are currently recruiting for a Health Information Management Technician position within our Quality & Compliance program. This position is responsible for working towards maintaining organizational compliance with all internal and external regulatory and auditing requirements.
Position Duties
Job Responsibilities
- Release of Information to include subpoenas
- Quantitative Record Reviews and record analysis
- Scan and attach health information to electronic health record
- Maintain health information in accordance with agency policies, state, and federal regulations
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Monday through Friday from 8:00am – 5:00pm
Other Qualifications
Skills and Qualifications
- Knowledge of health records/health information management operations and practices
- Good knowledge of medical and behavioral health clinical terminology
- Ability to prioritize and take initiative
- Detailed oriented
- Ability to apply regulatory standards to record keeping practices
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience working with Microsoft Office and computer systems required.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
DMV record must be submitted with application
