Location Description

The Fitzgerald, Georgia plant is a significant contributor to the U.S. peanut supply, producing approximately 50% of the nation’s peanuts and 108 million pounds of peanut butter annually. The site employs approximately 250 employees and plays an important role in both the local economy and the broader food supply chain.

 

Located in the heart of Fitzgerald, the community is known for its welcoming small‑town feel and unique local character. The city is famously home to wild chickens that freely roam the downtown area- so much so that the town hosts an annual Wild Chicken Festival in their honor. Responsibilities

Position Summary

 

The purpose of this position is to provide services and support to functional areas of the Human Resources department, to include recruitment, onboarding and other Human Resources general administrative duties as needed. This position reports to the Human Resources Manager.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

Recruitment/Onboarding:

  • Executes full cycle talent acquisition process including but not limited to posting, sourcing, screening, scheduling, interviewing, selection, offer negotiation and onboarding.
  • Conducts required pre-employment activities to include assessments, background checks and drug screens.
  • Coordinates the of use of temporary employees and assists with contractor set-up internally.
  • Support onboarding and orientation efforts by assisting with post offer testing, hiring paperwork, system training, and other correspondence to applicants.
  • Assist with onboarding of new hires.
  • Assist with coordinating recruiting events, such as job fairs and internship events.

 

General HR:

 

  • Provide administrative assistance to members of the HR department; including but not limited to issuing communications, record keeping and filing, payroll administration and coordinating meetings/events.
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal customers and end-users in answering questions regarding candidate status, payroll and other HR-related issues.
  • Performs data entry and maintains the system at a company and employee level; including hiring and terminations, pay and job changes, report generation, job code/department changes, and payroll administration.
  • Assist department in carrying out various human resources programs and procedures for all company employees.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Other:

  • Ensures compliance with all Federal, State and Local legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned.

  • Comprehensive business process and systems knowledge, and the ability to identify and implement best practices.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and balance multiple critical tasks.

Education and/or Experience

 

Education:

  • High School diploma or GED required. B.S. degree in Business, Management, Human Resources or other related field preferred.

Experience:

 

  • 3 years of experience supporting HR functions including: recruitment and onboarding, personnel records, employee and/or labor relations, compensation management, benefits administration, and training.
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems (UltiPro preferred). Experience with Kronos or similar timekeeping system and current working knowledge of payroll practices and laws strongly preferred. Experience with iCIMS or other Applicant Tracking Systems a plus.
  • Proficient in the use of office technologies (MS Excel, Outlook, and Word) and applicant tracking systems
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies and possess the technical aptitude to understand data flow and system interaction.

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver high level, responsive customer service in a business environment.
  • Demonstrated proactive work ethic and sense of urgency to do what it takes to get the job done
