POSITION SUMMARY

This teaching position plans, organizes, and delivers lessons consistent with the physical education curriculum and standards. This includes organizing skill development and lifetime fitness for youth in the middle school. There is a focus on participation, cooperation and skill acquisition that furthers motor and cognitive as well as physical skills. Leadership and communication skills are also characteristic of a good physical education teacher. They often must demonstrate skills so remaining in shape and modeling good health is also critical.

QUALIFICATIONS

•Models a commitment to Jesus and his church, to Christian education, to the mission of Lynden Christian, and to the local community.

•Active member of an evangelical Christian church.

Education, License, and Experience

•Bachelor’s degree in education with an emphasis in physical education from an accredited college or university.

•Washington State teaching certificate or qualified to obtain one within the school year.

•Demonstrate ability to effectively teach students grades 5-8.
