05/23/2026 Additional Information: Show/Hide - To instruct student-athletes in the fundamental skills, strategy and physical training necessary for them to realize a degree of individual and team success, while at the same time, to instruct and demonstrate behaviors that lead to socially acceptable character development, self-discipline, self-confidence, and pride of accomplishment in the student-athletes. To upgrade his/her knowledge and skills through coaching clinics, observations, consultation, etc.
- Previous successful coaching and/or playing experience in Volleyball.
- Knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport and a willingness to learn and adapt at the direction of the Head Coach.
- Serve as an appropriate role model for student-athletes through his/her instructions and actions.
- Meet all background and certification requirements of the District and CHSAA.
- The success of athletic programs strongly influences the community's image of the entire system. Public exposure is a considerable responsibility and community/parent pressure for winning performance is taxing, but must not override the objectives of good sportsmanship and good mental health.
- The position includes other unusual aspects such as extended time, risk injury factors, etc.
- A coach shall exercise common sense and good judgment at all times.
- Understands all team and FHS rules & regulations, CHSAA regulations; Interprets & implements consistently
- Understands the proper administrative line of command and refers all requests or grievances through proper channels. Is aware of all meetings that require attendance.
- Understands the fundamental philosophy, skills and techniques to be taught by staff.
- Performs such other duties which may be assigned by the Head Coach
- Supervises teams and players at the direction of the Head Coach
- Provides proper safeguards for maintenance and protection of assigned equipment sites.
- Assists with accountability for equipment and facilities, including but not limited to equipment rooms, training rooms, locker rooms, and coaches' offices. Permits the athletes to only be in authorized areas of the building at the appropriate times. Examines locker rooms before and after practices and games, checking on general cleanliness of the facility. Responsible for cleanliness and maintenance of specific sport equipment. Secures all doors, lights, windows and locks before leaving building. Instills in each player a respect for equipment and school property, its care and proper use.
- Reports directly to the Head Coach and indirectly to the Athletic Director, Principal, and Superintendent
