Job responsibilities

Fixed Asset Accountant is responsible for managing and overseeing a company's fixed assets, ensuring accurate recording and tracking of acquisitions, disposals, and depreciation. This role involves maintaining fixed asset ledgers, performing regular reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations. The Fixed Asset Accountant collaborates with various departments to ensure proper capitalization of assets, conducts periodic physical asset verifications, and provides detailed reports to inform financial decision-making. Exceptional attention to detail, analytical skills, and a thorough understanding of accounting principles are essential for success in this position

Key Responsibilities

• Asset Lifecycle Management: Record fixed asset additions, disposals, and transfers in the system.
• Depreciation & Valuation: Calculate and post monthly depreciation
• Reconciliation & Reporting: Perform monthly reconciliations between the fixed asset sub-ledger and the general ledger.
• Compliance & Audit: Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and GAAP/IFRS.
• Project Accounting: Monitor Construction in Progress (CIP) to ensure timely capitalization.
• Physical Verification: Coordinate physical inventory counts of assets to ensure register accuracy.

To Grow What Matters, You Will Need:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field
• 3+ years of experience in Fixed Assets / reconciliation or general accounting.
• Experience with automated reconciliation tools.
• Knowledge of banking operations and financial regulations
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial systems.

Technical; Skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Analytical and problem-solving approach.
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
