Job Purpose
The ideal candidate will support field locations by promoting Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) awareness, instilling an HSE culture, and selling the importance of HSE to both front-line employees and managers. The candidate must be able to work independently and remotely at times, able to rank priorities and make efficient use of resources. The candidate will be assigned a specific region within the US and must be willing to travel up to 50% of the time (including after hours and on weekends during emergencies).
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Individual must be able to perform the essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
Ensure Branch locations adhere to both the company and federal and state guidelines on safety.
Ensure employees meet all HSE training and competency requirements for specific roles.
Conduct internal audits, communicate results to the HSE Manager and follow up with Branch managers on corrective actions.
Review JSA’s against job processes to ensure all safety measures are in place and communicated.
Conduct HSE training as needed including Driver training, First Aid, H2S, Forklift, etc.
Ensure Branch locations are DOT compliant.
Initiate and manage projects for continual improvement of internal HSE programs and provide updates to the HSE Manager and operations management.
Develop proposals for corrective or preventive measures, and investigate, analyze and review accidents.
Responsible for ensuring all employees are properly informed about the working, environmental and safety policies of the organization.
Manage HSE training content on our Learning Management System (LMS) as required.
Required Experience
Bachelor’s degree in health, Safety and Environmental-related field, or 10+ years of proven successful service in the service field.
2+ years job experience in the Safety and Environmental field preferred.
Must have advanced working knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental regulations (Federal, State and Local levels).
Self-motivator with strong organizational and positive communication skills.
Team player with a strong commitment to the HSE profession.
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to conduct presentations and facilitate training.
Must be successful in building effective teams and motivating others.
Computer proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Must be willing to travel.
Must have a current, valid driver’s license and acceptable record at all times.
Additional Qualifications
Must have the ability to provide documentation verifying legal work status.
Ability to read and speak the English language proficiently in order to communicate with others, understand and interpret safety instructions, and respond to inquiries.
Ability to understand and comply with MRC Global guidelines & expectations, to include Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest guidelines.
