About the Job

  • The Airfreight Pricing and Procurement Manager is responsible for overseeing the pricing strategies and procurement processes for airfreight services. This role ensures competitive pricing, efficient procurement, and strong relationships with carriers and suppliers. Additionally, the role now includes responsibilities related to gateway management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement airfreight pricing strategies to ensure competitiveness and profitability.
  • Manage procurement processes, including negotiating contracts and agreements with carriers and suppliers.
  • Monitor market trends and adjust pricing strategies accordingly.
  • Collaborate with sales and operations teams to ensure alignment of pricing and procurement strategies.
  • Maintain strong relationships with carriers, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
  • Gateway Management:
    • Oversee the operations and management of gateway facilities.
    • Ensure efficient handling and processing of airfreight shipments at gateway locations.
    • Coordinate with logistics and operations teams to optimize gateway processes.
    • Monitor gateway performance and implement improvements as needed.
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards at gateway facilities.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in airfreight procurement, pricing, or related logistics functions.
  • Strong track record in negotiating with carriers and securing competitive rates.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and logistics management systems.
  • Knowledge of international trade regulations, Incoterms, and customs procedures.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong business acumen and customer service orientation.

Languages:

  • Proficiency in English (spoken and written) is required.
  • Additional language skills are an advantage.
