The Patient Coordinator is responsible for utilizing the NextGen system and various other programs to complete daily duties and responsible for ensuring that all patient appointments outside of the practice are scheduled and the most accurate medical records are obtained prior to the patient visit.


After the training period, the Patient Coordinator may have the opportunity to work on a hybrid work schedule. 


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Monitors tasks from providers and other staff for patient orders, imaging and out of office referrals. 
  • Process and coordinate imaging and outside testing for patients. 
  • Completes chart prep by obtaining and reviewing clinical documentation and physician referral information to ensure that clinical notes and diagnostic reports are available prior to scheduled patient office appointment and prepared and ready for physician at time of appointment. 
  • Returning patient phone calls and maintaining patient communication for continuity of care 
  • Obtaining authorization for imaging and referrals if necessary.
  • Scanning documents into patient charts.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • 2-3 years experience in medical office and/or customer service preferred. 
  • Proficient computer skills including ability to master the office’s practice management software. 
  • Consistent professional conduct, meticulous attention to detail, critical thinking skills and a positive and collaborative attitude are essential. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required as well as interpersonal skills with patients, staff, and other healthcare professionals.

Compensation: The compensation range for this position is $18.00 to $21.00. Actual compensation within that range will be dependent upon the individual’s skills, education, experience, and qualifications.
