CRANE OPERATOR
CWR is a growing road construction company. We are seeking to fill a highly skilled Crane Operator for our local operations.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Inspect crane at the start of each workday, checking all fluid levels and gauges; continue monitoring equipment performance throughout daily operations.
- Monitor crane operation for unusual noises, movements, or performance issues and promptly report any concerns to the supervisor.
- Perform light mechanical adjustments and assist mechanics with repairs as needed, including lubrication and fueling of assigned equipment.
- Set up crane operations, including assembly and dismantling of the boom.
- Determine proper ballast and counterweight requirements for each lift and job condition.
- Operate boom safety systems, ensuring maximum height and angle are maintained within load capacity limits to prevent structural failure.
- Give and accurately interpret standard hand signals during crane operations.
- Safely operate crane and attachments, including when working over or near personnel.
- Conduct crane inspections in accordance with ANSI standards and company policies.
- Evaluate ground conditions and determine proper footing under tires, tracks, or outrigger pads.
- Perform a variety of crane-related tasks, including dragline operations, pile hammer use, concrete placement, and excavation activities.
- Safely perform work in areas with known underground utilities and operate boom and attachments near overhead lines without causing damage.
- Operate crane equipment in a manner that prevents damage to machinery, surrounding structures, and minimizes risk of injury.
- Closely monitor boom position and attachments to avoid contact with nearby structures, tools, and equipment.
- Maintain the crane in a clean, safe, and orderly condition, including keeping tracks and work areas clear of debris.
- Follow all company safety rules, policies, and procedures.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- 1-3 years experience required
- Strong troubleshooting and communication skills
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Must be able to work days, nights, or weekends as needed
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to complete all required paperwork efficiently
- Must be able to meet company MVR requirements
- Employer conducts drug testing and background check
