The Fuel Equipment Design Engineer will be responsible for full contract and design execution of fuel system and combustion equipment supply contracts with a focus on natural gas delivery systems and gas-fired low NOx combustion technology for wall fired and T fired boilers in the industrial and electric utility space.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Serve as the lead design engineer on many projects in the development of project Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDS) for complete natural gas delivery systems.
  • Design, specify and/or selection appropriate equipment for responsible systems, such as natural gas filtration, pressure reduction and/or flow control equipment as well as burners system components and auxiliaries. 
  • Meet performance expectations for executing natural gas-fired boiler projects, becoming a subject matter expert in fuel system design and the various firing systems as the individual grows within the organization.
  • Provide proposal and sales support with customer presentations, consultative technical guidance, and project financial estimates.
  • Author field test procedures and reports, and lead service teams during fuel system commissioning and burner and emissions performance optimization and acceptance testing programs.
  • Produce and present technical content at conferences while networking within the industry.
  • Develop and/or maintain existing engineering standards for equipment sizing and performance predictions.
  • Develop working knowledge of the engineering division-standards, contract file system, drawing file system, and quality procedures.
