Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Full‑Stack Engineer with 6–9 years of hands‑on experience developing scalable, high‑quality applications. This role requires strong proficiency across backend, frontend, and cloud technologies—including Java, Spring Boot, AngularJS, JavaScript, SQL/MySQL, and AWS. Experience in the Cards & Payments domain is highly desirable and will enable the engineer to build solutions aligned with industry and regulatory standards. This position operates in a hybrid work model, balancing remote productivity with in‑office collaboration.
About the Role
As a Senior Java Full‑Stack Engineer, you will contribute across the full software development lifecycle—designing, developing, testing, deploying, troubleshooting, and maintaining applications built on modern full‑stack technologies. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams, translate business needs into technical solutions, and ensure delivery of secure, performant, and user‑centric systems. The role involves mentoring junior engineers, participating in code reviews, and applying best practices to enhance the team’s productivity and code quality. You will also work closely with stakeholders to ensure solutions meet business requirements, technical standards, and compliance needs, particularly within the Cards & Payments domain.

In This Role, You Will
• Develop and maintain high‑quality software applications using Java, Spring Boot, AngularJS, JavaScript, MySQL, and AWS.
• Design and implement scalable, efficient, and secure full‑stack solutions.
• Analyze and troubleshoot complex software issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimal business disruption.
• Apply best coding practices, development standards, and design patterns to ensure reliability and maintainability.
• Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to uphold code quality.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of tools, pipelines, and development processes.
• Ensure applications comply with industry standards and regulatory guidelines, especially in Cards & Payments.
• Work within agile methodologies, supporting sprint planning, estimation, and iterative delivery.
• Provide technical mentorship to junior developers and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
• Communicate regularly with product owners, business analysts, and stakeholders to refine requirements.
• Stay current with emerging tools and technologies to drive innovation.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation for long‑term support and system evolution.
• Operate in a hybrid work environment, balancing remote and onsite activities.
Work Model

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 2-3 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Toronto ON, CAN. Required Qualifications
• 6–9 years of professional experience in software development.
• Strong hands‑on expertise with Java, Spring Boot, AngularJS, JavaScript, SQL/MySQL, and AWS.
• Experience in the Cards & Payments domain (highly desirable).
• Solid understanding of full‑stack application architecture and integration patterns.
• Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to analyze and resolve complex technical challenges.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working across multidisciplinary teams.
• Proactive approach to learning new technologies, frameworks, and best practices.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work model.

Salary and Other Compensation
Applications will be accepted until March 15th, 2026.
The annual salary for this position ranges from $70,000 – $110,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to applicable plan terms.
