Compensation
Salary: $57,350 - $71,685 annually
Starting salary is depending on qualifications and experience
Position Duties
- Review subdivision and site development applications for compliance with City codes and construction standards and generally accepted engineering practice; inspect subdivisions as needed during construction to monitor compliance.
- Attend City Council and Planning and Zoning Commission meetings, as required; interface with other City and community organizations, as requested.
- Interpret, amend, or update codes and standards as necessary; remain current regarding developing trends and changes in federal, state, and local regulatory practices.
- May assist City Engineer with developing the City’s annual capital improvement plan and managing capital improvement projects: provide input into cost estimates and right-of-way acquisitions; create preliminary designs; perform preliminary reviews.
- Remains accessible via personal cell phone to address job-related issues or emergencies using City applications.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Formal Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
Relatable Work Experience: None required.
Training, Licenses, and Certifications: Engineer-in-Training certification or the ability to obtain within one year of hire. Valid Class C Texas driver’s license with a good driving record.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in Civil Engineering, preferably within a municipal or county government. Knowledge of modeling software, long-range infrastructure planning, and CADD or GIS experience.

One year of full-time experience is define as 30 or more hours worked per week for 12 months. One year of higher education is defined as 30 credit hours completed at an accredited college or university.
