Position Summary:

The Claims Payment Processing Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a claims payment processing department to ensure claims are paid efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with company and regulatory guidelines. This role involves managing a team of claims payment processors, resolving complex issues, and implementing strategies to improve departmental performance.

Essential Functions:

  • Work with existing team management to supervise, train, and develop a team of claims payment processors to ensure high performance and adherence to standard procedures.
  • Manage and monitor the entire claims payment process, from initial submission to final payment, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Enforce company policies regarding claims payment disbursement. 
  • Manage multiple payment channels, including both electronic payments and payments by check.
  • Develop procedures for electronic claim payment handling.  Work with a broad, cross-department team to implement an electronic claim payment platform.
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex or high-value claim payments and resolve disputes with internal and external parties.
  • Analyze claims data to identify trends, enhance workflows, and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Act as a liaison with other departments (such as Claims, IT, and Customer Service) and external stakeholders (such as attorneys or vendors) to ensure effective coordination.
