About The Role
This position requires the successful candidate to work on a W2 directly with FDM. We cannot accept C2C, 1099 or employment sponsorship (e.g. H1-B) for this position.
FDM is a global business and technology consultancy delivering client and industry driven solutions through our 5 core specialist Practices; Software Engineering, Data & Analytics, IT Operations, Change & Transformation, and Risk, Regulation & Compliance.
FDM is seeking a Production Support Engineer located in NYC to support a project in the financial sector. Involvement in this project is anticipated to last initially 24 months but may be extended.
This role will be hybrid with requirements to be in office 3 days per week.
About You
Required Skills & Experience
5–6 years of experience in a production support or application support role.
Hands-on expertise with:
- Dynatrace (monitoring / APM)
- Splunk (logging / analysis)
- Python (scripting, automation)
- Unix / Linux (commands, troubleshooting)
Experience supporting front-office trading desks or real-time financial applications.
Strong understanding of intraday risk, market data, and trading workflows.
Ability to perform effectively in high-pressure environments with tight SLAs.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact directly with traders and business stakeholders.
High energy, proactive attitude, and strong sense of ownership.
Nice-to-Have
- Exposure to Fixed Income products (Rates, Credit, Munis, etc.)
- Experience with ITIL processes (incident, problem, change management)
- Knowledge of market microstructure or electronic trading flows
Work Environment
- Based in New York City
- Hybrid schedule: 3 days per week onsite
- Fast‑paced front-office environment with direct interaction with trading desks
