Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and organized individual to join our team at Sebree Elementary School as a full-time School Secretary. This position plays a vital role in the smooth operation of the school by providing administrative support, maintaining records, and ensuring effective communication among staff, students, and parents. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to fostering a positive school environment.

Responsibilities
- Serve as the first point of contact for visitors, students, and parents, providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
- Manage phone calls, emails, and correspondence, responding to inquiries and directing them to the appropriate personnel.
- Maintain student records, including enrollment, attendance, and health information, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Assist in the preparation of school documents, reports, and newsletters, as well as maintain school calendars and schedules.
- Coordinate and schedule meetings, events, and appointments for school staff and administration.
- Support the principal and other administrative staff with various clerical tasks, including filing, data entry, and inventory management.
- Manage school supplies and equipment, ordering and restocking as necessary.
- Assist with student registration and enrollment processes, including collection of necessary documentation.
- Facilitate communication between teachers, parents, and students regarding school policies, events, and concerns.
- Ensure the front office area is organized, professional, and compliant with safety and security protocols.

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in office administration preferred.
- Proven experience in an administrative role, preferably in an educational setting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with school management software.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a friendly and professional demeanor.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Familiarity with basic bookkeeping and financial processes is a plus.
