ABOUT OUR OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking a Machine Operator II to work in the Blairs facility. The Machine Operator II effectively operates and monitors more complex machinery in various departments. Machines operated or monitored include, but are not limited to, conveyor belts, hoppers, DG shuttle, fillers, baggers, scales, and sorters.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Completes pre-shift calibration and inspection of machines to ensure working order.
- Completes post-shift cleaning of machines; keeps work area clean.
- Provides continuous monitoring of the machines throughout the shift. Makes systemic, mechanical, and physical changes as needed to maintain efficiency
- Changes film and print ribbon as needed.
- Ensures machinery is operating efficiently; reports issues immediately to supervisors and maintenance.
- Monitors and maintains product quality.
- Accurately completes required paperwork and reports.
- Exhibits a professional manner in dealing with others and works to maintain constructive working relationships.
- Demonstrates a commitment to company-wide quality and safety.
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

- Must be able to trouble shoot and problem solve quickly when problems present
- Must be able to operate multiple computer interfaces simultaneously; Ability to analyze data and processes
- Must have technical or mechanical abilities.
- Must be able to pay close attention to detail to set-up and operation of machinery to identify needed adjustments.
- Ability to give guidance to co-workers.
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work in a fast-paced distribution environment.
- Ability to communicate with management and coworkers to meet departmental goals.
- Ability to understand written and oral instructions; Ability to perform basic math.
- Ability to maintain safe work practices as outlined in the standard operating procedures.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
- 1-year prior experience and/or training in a technical or mechanical environment preferred.
- 1-year experience in operating automated machinery and equipment including systemic set-up and manipulation.
- Continued education preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- Valid State Driver’s License required
- Must obtain forklift license from Unique Industries
