About Hedral
Hedral is redefining building design through automated, multi-disciplinary engineering.
We develop and operate a proprietary platform that accelerates design schedules, enabling us to deliver the output of traditional AEC firms ten times our size. We are fully licensed to stamp these designs as Engineer of Record and take responsibility for highly-consequential projects, from mission-critical federal facilities to complex commercial infrastructure.
We are scaling quickly with backing from leading venture capital including Khosla Ventures, Valor Equity Partners, and Tishman Speyer.
The Role
You will lead the structural design of complex buildings and infrastructure, operating as a core technical driver of the engineering team. This role requires a high level of autonomy in executing primary design elements while ensuring strict alignment with industry codes and high-quality standards.

Austin, TX or New York, NY - Primary preference for Austin or NYC; remote-eligible for exceptional candidates with a proven track record.
Core Responsibilities
Design Leadership: Independently lead structural design tasks for a variety of building materials including steel, concrete, masonry, and timber.
Workflow Optimization: Develop and implement study and design procedures to facilitate high-quality, automated, and cost-effective work across teams.
QA/QC & Coordination: Perform rigorous interdisciplinary reviews of project deliverables and coordinate construction issues across disciplines to ensure accuracy.
Technical Execution: Prepare and review technical specifications, design calculations, and construction documents using advanced structural analysis software and Revit.
Requirements
Education: BS in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
Experience: 3+ years of relevant experience specifically in the structural design of buildings and structures.
Technical Proficiency: Expertise in structural codes (ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC, IBC, etc.) and proficiency in ETABS, SAP2000, RAM, Enercalc, Tekla Tedds and Excel/Mathcad.
Revit Mastery: Must be capable of performing direct drafting and making changes to Revit 3D models and 2D details.
Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) License, or the clear ability to obtain a PE/SE within 12 months of hire.

Bonus Qualifications
Advanced Degree: Master’s degree in Structural Engineering.
SE License: Current Structural Engineer (SE) licensure.
Project Diversity: Demonstrated experience designing a variety of building types, including schools, hospitals, offices, retail centers, apartments, or hotels.
Automation Focus: Experience with Dynamo, Python, or other automation tools within a BIM/Engineering environment.
How we operate
Ownership & Intensity: We operate with high autonomy and a shared sense of urgency to redefine an entire industry.
Bias for Action and Efficiency: We prioritize automation over manual effort to solve high-consequence problems, shipping quickly and often.
Data-Driven Decisions: Hedral’s core advantage is not just automation, but that our system learns from real, stamped engineering work. Every project feeds back into the model.
