Position Summary
The Director of Global Organizational Excellence is responsible for improving process capability, stability, and systemic performance across all GTI Fabrication sites. This role drives Lean and Six Sigma deployment, ensures disciplined execution of APQP and product realization processes, and strengthens Built-In Quality through robust PFMEA, Control Plans, and process validation.
The role focuses on performance improvement, prevention, and process capability, not ISO compliance or daily production quality execution.
Key Responsibilities
Continuous Improvement Leadership
- Lead global deployment of Lean, Six Sigma, and structured problem-solving (A3, 8D)
- Improve process stability, flow, and predictability across sites
- Reduce variation, waste, scrap, and rework through data-driven improvement
- Establish standard work and operational discipline
- Identifyand deploy best practices across all facilities
APQP / Product Realization Governance
- Own the global APQP framework and standards
- Ensure disciplined execution of:
- Feasibility reviews
- Design & process risk assessment
- PFMEA development and maintenance
- Control Plan development and effectiveness
- Process validation and readiness
- Ensure cross-functional ownership of APQP deliverables
- Drive prevention-based thinking across product lifecycle
Built-In Quality (BIQ)
- Strengthenprocess-based defect prevention
- Improve operator-driven quality systems (OAP / layered quality)
- Ensure controls are designed into the process, not inspected in later
- Improve first-pass yield and process predictability
Process Capability & Data-Driven Quality
- Drive process capability culture (Cp,Cpk,Ppk)
- Establish statistical thinking across operations
- Ensure process controls are measurable and effective
- Improve use of data for root cause and predictive quality
Cross-Site Improvement & Standardization
- Lead systemic improvement across Phoenix, Buffalo, Goodyear, and Monterrey
- Deploy global standard work for key quality and manufacturing processes
- Eliminatevariation in how processes are executed across sites
- Build a continuous improvement pipeline tied to business performance
Training & Capability Building
- Develop Lean / Six Sigma culture and training roadmap
- Coach Quality Managers and engineers in structured problem solving
- Improve PFMEA / Control Plan competency across sites
- Strengthen prevention mindset across organization

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree inEngineering, Quality, Operations, or related field or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
- 8+years experiencein Continuous Improvement, APQP, or Process Quality
- Strong experience with PFMEA, Control Plans, and process validation
- Strong problem-solving and root causeexpertise
- Experience in manufacturing or fabrication environment
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional improvement
Preferred Qualifications
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (or higher)
- ASQ – Certified Manager of Quality / Organizational ExcellenceCertification
- APQP / PPAP experience (automotive or structured manufacturing preferred)
- Experience in multi-site or global operations
- Welding Experience and/or container construction is a plus!
- Statistical analysis / process capabilityexpertise
- Experience implementing Built-In Quality or operator-driven quality systems
