Job Description

At our office in central Gothenburg, Sweden you will work in a one-of-a-kind software development organization with fascinating solutions that make a real difference to people around the world. You will be working in an agile learning organization, surrounded by a team of talented, creative and dedicated colleagues. You will learn and broaden your perspective by working with 400 professionals from more than 30 different nations, but also be part of a global organization allowing for collaboration with customers and colleagues across the world. Most importantly, you will be expected to make a difference. We are very proud of our culture of trust and helpfulness.

The X-Force team is responsible for developing and maintaining our internal fork of the open-source project InfraWeave(a cloud-native control plane that unites platform and development teams), contributing improvements back to the OSS community, ensuring observability and security of the InfraWeave deployment, and operating our internal Backstage instance that serves as the developer portal for our platform.

Position responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the organization's internal fork of InfraWeave while contributing enhancements to the open-source project
  • Ensure comprehensive observability, security, and reliability of the InfraWeave deployment within AWS infrastructure
  • Operate and advance the Backstage developer portal to deliver exceptional developer experience
  • Collaborate with product teams and platform teams to continuously enhance the internal cloud platform
  • Establish and promote best practices in platform engineering, security, observability, and open-source collaboration

About the team

You will be part of a highly qualified and experienced team that owns the operational heart of our internal cloud platform. The X-Force team focuses on making infrastructure effortless for developers by combining powerful open-source tools with custom enhancements tailored to our needs.
We work with GitHub, InfraWeave, Backstage, AWS, Rust, and modern observability and security tools. We value high code quality, security-first mindset, and close collaboration – sometimes using pair and mob programming.

Required Qualifications

  • Proficiency in English (our corporate language), both spoken and written
  • Demonstrated experience with platform engineering in cloud environments (AWS)
  • Solid experience with programming, preferably Rust

Preferred Qualifications

The ideal candidate demonstrates an analytical approach to problem solving, excellent communication skills both within and outside their team, and a strong interest in technology and its application to support users.
We are seeking candidates who are results-driven, committed to excellence, maintain a positive attitude, and thrive in environments of continuous team growth and collaboration.
Preferred qualifications include:

  • Experience working with or contributing to open-source projects (particularly in the infrastructure or platform space)
  • Practical knowledge of AWS, Kubernetes, and GitOps practices
  • Strong skills in observability, security, and reliability engineering
  • Experience with Backstage or similar developer portals
  • Proficient scripting skills (Python, Bash or similar) and comfort working in Linux environments

A DevOps/Platform Engineering mindset with focus on security, developer experience, and open-source collaboration
