The Senior Operator will be expected to produce chemical and pharmaceutical products in the manufacturing environment, in a safe manner and within cGMP regulations and practices. The Senior Operator will be troubleshooting equipment and managing utilities. Shift work required.
- Operates batch and continuous type reactors, high pressure reactors, filters, solvent distillation equipment, centrifuges and supporting equipment, all according to designated procedures.
- Trains less experienced operators as directed by production supervision
- Troubleshoots equipment and assists other departments as needed in problem solving equipment issues
- Understands, operates and troubleshoots utilities (scrubber, skids, vacuum pumps, etc) for the work center
- Performs simple laboratory tests on samples of in-process and waste materials to ensure proper operation and equipment function
- Makes recommendations to improve yields and reduce waste, labor, materials, maintenance, handling and other costs
- Actively works and collaborates with Process Engineering and Chemical Development Departments during the implementation of new products in the manufacturing area
- Perform the job duties of an Operator
All coworkers are required to adhere to DEA, EPA, FDA and cGMP regulations as they relate to the operation of the Company; and to adhere to all company safety rules and procedures. All employees are expected to report to work regularly and promptly. Other duties relating to departmental mission, not specifically detailed in this section may be assigned.
- Sound written and oral communication skills
- Strong computer knowledge including word processing, spreadsheets, and inventory management are highly beneficial
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Three or more years of chemical processing/manufacturing experience preferred
- DEA background check required
- Respirator use required
