Job Description

Job Purpose: 

This role combines leadership with active participation in daily housekeeping operations—from cleaning and inspecting rooms to overseeing lobby and patio areas, managing supplies, and guiding the housekeeping team to achieve the highest standards of cleanliness and productivity.

The Housekeeping Supervisor plays a key role in bringing that vision to life—leading by example, motivating the team, and ensuring that every stay is memorable for all the right reasons. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  

Key Responsibilities 

  • Room Care: Clean guest rooms when needed, ensuring they meet luxury standards.
  • Inspection & Quality Control: Inspect guest rooms, public restrooms, lobby areas, and outdoor spaces (including patio) for cleanliness, presentation, and readiness.
  • Public Area Maintenance: Ensure lobby, public restrooms, and patio areas are spotless and well-presented at all times.
  • Supplies & Inventory: Unpack and organize housekeeping shipments; maintain proper stock levels of cleaning supplies, amenities, and linens.
  • Team Leadership: Assign daily room boards and tasks to room attendants based on productivity goals and hotel occupancy.
  • Training & Mentorship: Coach and support team members in cleaning techniques, guest service, and time management.
  • Productivity Management: Monitor team efficiency and adjust assignments to meet deadlines without sacrificing quality.
  • Hands-On Support: Step in wherever needed in the department to ensure seamless operations.
  • Safety & Compliance: Follow all safety procedures and hotel policies; ensure housekeeping staff do the same. 

Experience: 

  • Previous experience in housekeeping, preferably in a boutique or luxury hotel.
  • Proven leadership skills with a hands-on management style.
  • Strong eye for detail and commitment to high-quality service.
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to shifting priorities.
  • Excellent communication and team-building skills.
  • Physically able to perform cleaning tasks and stand/walk for extended periods.
  • Knowledge of housekeeping productivity standards and scheduling.

  • Ability to motivate a team and lead by example.
  • Weekend availability required. 

Physical Requirements: 

  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Comfortable with physically demanding tasks.
