CUSD 303 is seeking a qualified candidate to serve as District Network Administrator for the 2026 - 2027 SY. 

The Network Administrator supports the daily operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and administration of the district’s network infrastructure, phone system, and related operational technologies across all district buildings. This role is responsible for independently managing routine and intermediate-level technical work in assigned systems, with particular responsibility for the district’s phone environment and day-to-day infrastructure support.

Minimum Education/Certification:

  • Bachelor's degree from accredited university in information technology, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

Primary Purpose:
To The Network Administrator supports the daily operation, maintenance, troubleshooting,
and administration of the district’s network infrastructure, phone system, and related
operational technologies across all district buildings. This role is responsible for
independently managing routine and intermediate-level technical work in assigned
systems, with particular responsibility for the district’s phone environment and day-to-day
infrastructure support.
This position requires a strong service mindset, practical technical judgment, and the
ability to work independently on routine and intermediate-level support responsibilities.
The Network Administrator works closely with Network Analysts and other technology staff
to support district infrastructure systems through day-to-day administration,
troubleshooting, documentation, and operational follow-through.
Qualifications:
Minimum Education/Certification:
• Bachelor’s degree from accredited university in information technology, computer
science, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant
experience.

Special Knowledge/Skills:
• Working knowledge of switching, wireless networking, IP addressing, VLANs, DHCP,
DNS, and general network troubleshooting.
• Ability to independently complete routine operational work with limited supervision
• Ability to troubleshoot technical issues, document work clearly, prioritize tasks, and
follow issues through to completion.
• Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Willingness to work overtime, including evenings or weekends, as required.
Minimum Experience:
• Minimum of three years of experience supporting systems in an IT environment.
• Experience supporting enterprise networking and/or telephone systems.
Preferred:
• Experience in a K-12 or other multi-site enterprise environment.
• Experience with VoIP or enterprise phone systems.
• Experience with enterprise switching, wireless, and network access control platforms.
• Experience supporting connected systems such as cameras or access control from the
infrastructure side.

• Experience maintaining technical documentation, inventories, and support records.
Essential Functions:
• Administers and supports the district’s phone system, including routine configuration,
user moves, adds, changes, device support, troubleshooting, reporting, and
coordination with service providers or venders.
• Supports the daily operation of the district’s wired and wireless network infrastructure.
• Troubleshoots routine and intermediate-level connectivity issues involving switching,
wireless access, IP addressing, VLAN assignment, DHCP, DNS, and endpoint network
access. Forms routine installation, replacement, configuration, labeling, and
documentation of network and telecom equipment.
• Performs routine installation, replacement, configuration, labeling, and documentation
of network and telecom equipment.
• Assists with network access control tasks, device authentication support, and related
configuration changes under established procedures.
• Monitors alerts, dashboards, logs, and system health indicators to identify and respond
to operation issues
• Supports low-level operational tasks related to connected infrastructure systems such as
phones, cameras, access control, and other district technologies, escalating advanced
issues when appropriate.
• Assists with routine maintenance activities including firmware updates, standards-based
configuration changes, patching, and lifecycle replacement tasks.
• Maintains current technical documentation including diagrams, inventories, procedures,
support notes, and change records.
• Coordinates support tickets, vendor cases, warranty requests, service calls, and follow-
up through resolution.
• Participates in infrastructure projects, site work, equipment deployments, cutovers, and
service transitions.
• Provides technical support and assistance to other technology staff on network and
telecom-related issues.
• Participates in service restoration, after-hours maintenance, and incident response
activities as assigned
• Maintains confidentially and follows district expectations for cybersecurity, data
protection, and change control.
• Performs other duties as assigned.




Position Expectations
• Demonstrates initiative in resolving routine technical issues independently and
recognizes when escalation to senior staff is appropriate
• Assumes ownership of routine operational support within assigned systems and
follows work through to completion.
• Supports the majority of day-to-day phone system administration and related
operational tasks.
• Completes basic technical tasks across adjacent infrastructure areas when those tasks
fall within established procedures and expected role responsibilities.
• Provides technical support and operational follow-through on infrastructure-related
issues that exceed general end-user support and do not require analyst-level
intervention.
• Works collaboratively with Network Analysts on complex issues, major changes, and
project work.

Role Boundaries
• This position is expected to independently manage routine day-to-day administration
and support within assigned systems.
• This position is expected to handle most operational aspects of the district phone
system
• Complex design decisions, major system architecture, advanced security analysis, and
high-risk changes are handled in coordination with or escalated to Network Analysts.

Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and
peripherals.
Posture: Frequent sitting and standing; occasional bending/stooping, pushing, pulling,
and twisting.
Locations: Ability to work in wiring closets, ceilings, ladders, and other support
environments as needed
Vision: Abilities required of this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision,
peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Motion: Ability to move between district building and technology spaces as needed.
Frequent movement throughout the work environment. Repetitive hand motions; frequent
keyboarding, use of mouse, and occasional reaching.
Lifting: Ability to lift and move technology equipment within reasonable job expectations
including light lifting and carrying items up to 20 pounds
Environment: May work prolonged or irregular hours
Mental Demands: Have the ability to solve complex problems in situations where only
limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret instructions provided through written and
oral form. Ability to work with frequent interruptions and maintain emotional control under
stress.
