ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION
POSITION OVERVIEW
- Provide prompt, safe, efficient, courteous and friendly vehicle care and delivery to all valet customers
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION
Vehicle Parking
- Assess and Document any vehicle damage prior to taking possession of any vehicle
- Hand out parking tickets to guests upon entry to the valet area, as required
- Safe operation of the vehicle in accordance with all applicable laws and ordinances
- Park guest vehicles in designated spaces within the designated garage, or lot
- Double check of parking location, record stall number and initial valet ticket
- Deliver keys and ticket to the valet cashier or key room and log delivery into the log
- Check that headlights are off, vehicle is locked, and windows are closed
Vehicle Retrieval
- Retrieve guest vehicles to the valet service area in a safe and prompt manner, and in accordance with all Company polices
- “Run Hard and Drive Slow”
Customer Service
- Make customer service, care and satisfaction the priority in every interaction
- Greet all guests with a warm welcome and give a warm farewell with good eye contact and smile
- Anticipate guest needs and fulfill them in a flawless and timely manner
- Being courteous and helpful to all guests
- Assist with directions and other guest needs as appropriate
- Assist with opening of vehicle doors as required upon arrival and departure
SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
- Always follow the safe path of travel to parking areas
- Follow the direction and instruction of Parking Manager, Doorman, and Leadman
- Maintain traffic control ensuring all traffic lanes are kept clear
- Ensure that your actions protect the safety and well-being of all employees and guests
- Report all incidents immediately to Management, in accordance with Company policies
- Proactively seek hazardous areas and report them to Management, Direct traffic for safety of employees and guests
- Be aware of and correct any safety hazards that may be present on the driveway or with the parking operations, and report any safety hazards that you cannot correct to management immediately
OTHER DUTIES
- Sweeping and general area upkeep as directed by management
- Be aware of other people in the valet area that don’t belong
SKILL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
DOCUMENT AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- Must have a current valid California state driver’s license
- Must have a clean driving record as determined by a background check and DMV record
- Ability to read, write, and verbally communicate in English
- Ability to complete forms in legible writing and printing
- Ability to recognize when there is a problem situation and escalate to management
- Must be aware of and sensitive to the needs of a diverse employee population
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must possess the manual dexterity to safely operate motor vehicles in very limited parking areas.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time (6-12 hours)
- Ability to endure getting in and out of cars frequently throughout assigned working hours
- Ability to work while standing, walking or running (both short and long distances)
- Ability to lift 25-30lbs or more on a regular basis
- Ability to run on uneven pavement
- Ability to assists guests into and out of vehicles
- Some vehicles may have a manual transmission and require shifting.
ENVIROMENTAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to work under stressful situations quickly with ease
- Ability to endure exposure to outside weather conditions, such as heat, cold, wind, etc.
VEHICLE DAMAGE / CLAIMS REPORTING
- While driving the vehicle STOP the vehicle long enough for the cameras to view and record any damage
- Report all damage and claims to Management
Any accident or damage occurring while you are in possession of the vehicle, needs to be reported IMMEDIATELY. This means any accident or damage, no matter how small or insignificant, MUST be reported to your Manager on Duty before;
- You drive another vehicle
- You take your next Break / Lunch
- You clock out and leave your work area
POST-ACCIDENT REQUIREMENTS
- In order to provide a safe work environment for all employees during the course of their employment, and a clear understanding of unacceptable behavior that will lead to disciplinary action up to and including termination. Classic Parking, Inc. prohibits the use of any controlled substances and/or alcohol during any workday. Employees are expected to arrive for their work shift without the presence of any substance and/or alcohol in their systems.
- Upon the occurrence of an on-the-job accident resulting in property damage, employees are to immediately inform their Manager/Supervisor of the event. The employee will be directed to a medical facility and will be required to submit a drug and alcohol test.
FAILURE TO IMMEDIATELY REPORT AN ACCIDENT OR DAMAGE TO A VEHICLE WILL RESULT IN TERMINATION OF EMPLOYMENT.
