Job Summary
 We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our CPA Firm. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for managing a broad spectrum of accounting functions, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data, and supporting the organization’s success. Your expertise will help drive informed decision-making through precise financial reporting, thorough account reconciliations, and adherence to firm and regulatory standards. Responsibilities 
  • Perform detailed account reconciliations for general ledger accounts, including bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, credit card and loan reconciliations
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes by reviewing financial data, preparing reports, and ensuring accuracy in financial report writing and interpretation maintain and update accounting software systems such as QuickBooks, Xero, or similar platforms; ensure data integrity across all systems. Quickbooks experience is necessary and any other would be optional.
  • Contribute to process improvements by leveraging technical accounting knowledge and financial concepts to optimize workflows
  • Maintain and update financial records using double entry bookkeeping methods
  • Perform balance sheet and bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial data
  • Conduct account analysis to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly
  • Maintain vendor records and ensure 1099/W-9 compliance
  • Close the books based on needs and deliver clean, tax-ready financials
  • Build tax workpapers and review balance sheet accounts for accuracy
  • Record transactions and adjusting entries with proper classification
  • Maintain exceptional service to partner in charge and your book of business
  • Be able to perform sales tax and property tax returns
  • Sales tax preparation and submittals
Qualifications
  • Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft or similar platforms; experience with Microsoft Excel for advanced data analysis is essential. QuickBooks experience is a must. 
  • Public accounting experience of 3 years minimum
  • Knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping principles including debits & credits management.
  • Experience with financial statement preparation, interpretation of financial reports, balance sheet reconciliation, bank reconciliation, and account analysis.
  • Ability to perform detailed account reconciliation tasks accurately under tight deadlines.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data for reporting purposes.
  • Excellent communication skills for preparing clear financial reports and collaborating across teams.
  • Please be attentive, organized, problem solver, and proactive
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus not a must
