Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable individual to serve as a Substitute Teacher at Mid-Valley Special Education Cooperative. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a positive and productive classroom environment, delivering instructional materials, and ensuring the continuity of learning in the absence of the regular teacher. This role requires flexibility, strong communication skills, and a passion for education.
Responsibilities
- Follow lesson plans provided by the regular teacher to ensure continuity of instruction.
- Manage classroom behavior and maintain a respectful and safe learning environment.
- Engage students in learning activities and encourage participation.
- Provide feedback to students on their progress and performance.
- Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents regarding classroom activities and student needs.
- Supervise students during lunch, recess, and other non-instructional periods as needed.
- Assist in the preparation of classroom materials and resources.
- Adapt instructional methods and materials to meet the varying needs of students.
- Report any incidents or issues to the appropriate school personnel.
- Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field preferred.
- Valid teaching license or substitute teaching permit as required by state regulations.
- Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage classroom behavior and engage students effectively.
- Flexibility and adaptability to handle a variety of classroom situations.
- Basic knowledge of educational practices and principles.
- Commitment to fostering a positive learning environment.
- Must pass background checks as required by school policy.
Pay
$120 per day
Extra $20 per day after the 25th day subbing for Mid-Valley
