Compensation
At S&C, we are dedicated to providing competitive and equitable compensation for all our team members, and we are committed to transparency in our pay practices. The estimated annual base salary range for this position is $73,920-$95,495.40. Individual pay within this salary range is determined by several compensable factors, including performance, knowledge, job-related skills and experience, and relevant education or training. This role is also eligible for S&C's annual incentive plan (AIP), subject to eligibility criteria.

Join Our Team as a Mechanical Engineer I (Early Talent Program)!
The S&C Engineering Rotational Program is intended to provide early career professionals with a rich development experience across S&C’s Power Hardware organization. The program lasts approximately 24 months, with new assignments approximately every 6 months, after which time the individual is placed in a permanent position. Participants will contribute across S&C’s organization while learning foundational engineering and manufacturing skills, developing a baseline understanding of S&C products, and understanding internal processes and workflows.
The Product Development organization is responsible for the product management, new product development, and product engineering/sustaining engineering functions at S&C. The program provides an excellent opportunity to become a well-rounded professional with varied experience, widely sought-after skills, and great prospects for future success.
Key Responsibilities:
Participate on teams developing new products and product feature extensions
Providing engineering support for internal and external customers including leading problem solving activities tied to part and assembly design, manufacturing and assembly processes, and quality compliance issues
Creation of conceptual and prototype mechanical systems using 3D CAD software
Participation in formal problem-solving events as well as Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA) events
Investigation and detailed written engineering analysis of equipment returned by customers
Execution of mechanical, high-voltage, and high-power testing per relevant standards on new and existing product designs
Preparation of necessary design models, drawings, and requests to create test vehicles
Definition of device and system test requirements as well as preparation of test samples
Travel to outside labs, customer, and supplier facilities
Analysis of high-voltage electrical components and electrical circuits
Supporting lifecycle product management and product marketing activities
Participating in voice of the customer (VOC) engagement activities to understand existing problems and emerging requirements, including customer visits and presentations
Presentation of significant findings, orally and in writing, to senior management and engineers throughout the company
What You’ll Need To Succeed:
BS degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited university
Good interpersonal and communication skills, written and spoken, to clearly present ideas in a variety of forums
Desire to work hands-on in a manufacturing environment
Ability to operate successfully both independently and as part of a larger engineering team
