Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
Develop Personal Training routines and implement programs in a safe and effective manner for members of the Weinstein Center for Recreation.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Conduct client assessments to determine the most appropriate courses of program development.
· Explain procedures, risks, and benefits to clients and inform them that they have the right to refuse, stop, or alter procedures at any time.
· Ensure that the Personal Training program is delivered to the participants in a safe and enjoyable manner
· Create and implement Personal training offerings for participants. Stay current with exercise trends and safety standards.
· Attend all required training workshops and scheduled meetings.
· Obtain, maintain, and securely store client records.
· Adhere to all University Recreation employee guidelines and TEAM Standards.
· Adhere to all emergency procedures in compliance with the risk management plan.
· Advocates for awareness, understanding and the diversity and inclusion of all people in Well-being facilities, programs and communications while providing a commitment to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds. Advocates for the educational and cultural benefits of providing diversity and inclusion in Health & Well-being.

Position may be required to work nights and weekends as part of the job.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge, skills & ability:
· Current nationally accredited certification in Personal Training required (NSCA, ACE, ACSM preferred)
· Must demonstrate knowledge of anatomy and exercise physiology at a level required by the certification program.
· CPR/AED certification preferred. Required within 30 days of employment.
Education & experience:
· Bachelor's degree in Health, Physical Education or Recreation related field preferred, but may be substituted with appropriate knowledge, skills, and abilities
· Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff and student environment or commitment to do so as a staff member at University of Richmond
Scheduled Hours: 20 hours per week, flexible schedule
Salary Rate: Hourly non-benefited $15.00 -$19.00 per hour based on experience
