Job Description
Technology Evaluation, Implementation, and Support: 
Contribute to the selection, development, implementation, and integration of AI technologies, following campus strategies and governance structures.
Ensure evaluation and assessment of potential AI solutions, as determined by campus needs, occurs in order to determine their applicability and potential benefits.
Alongside campus product owners, service managers, and project managers, ensure that AI applications and services are deployed and operated as sustainable and scalable services.
Find opportunities for process improvement using AI to increase organizational efficiencies.
Assess current problems and existing use cases for AI, provide tools that enable users to solve unique problems independently.
Serve as the product owner for pilot tools until long-term ownership is determined (including the LLM Gateway Pilot, NebulaOne pilot, etc.).
Stay informed about emerging trends and standard processes in AI to ensure the institution remains at the forefront of educational innovation.
Develop and maintain key partnerships and performance agreements with vendors and contractors, ensuring alignment with CU Boulder’s mission.
Elevate CU Boulder’s profile in academic Artificial Intelligence by engaging in dialogue with peer institutions and representing the university at industry conferences and events.
Assist project management staff during AI pilot projects, ensuring timely and successful execution and alignment with end project goals.

Strategic Collaboration: 
Champion trusted partnerships with academic and administrative groups across CU Boulder to align AI efforts with the university's long-term goals.
Lead strategic engagements with OIT's AI Steering Team and the campus AI Strategic Steering Committee including defining program objectives, success metrics, and key achievements.
Ensure strategic roadmap meets key turning points, results, and timelines.
Initiate OIT project charters for AI initiatives and support implementation of existing charters featuring significant AI functionality.
Collaborate with and support efforts of CU’s Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL), Boulder Faculty Assembly (BFA), Academic Technology Advisory Group (ATAG), and additional faculty AI working groups.
Liaise with University of Colorado’s Honor Code office to ensure ethical use of AI.
Advise campus leadership on compliance and governmental regulations concerning AI.
Serve as liaison to campus governance groups as needed.

Foster Campus AI Literacy:
Sponsor and promote AI efforts and initiatives across campus that provide knowledge growth in the subject area of artificial intelligence.
Maintain and build the campus “AI Community of Practice”, moderating participation and bringing key findings to campus leadership.
Increase campus AI awareness through the creation and maintenance of resources and events, such as workshops, training, and online content.
Regularly assess the effectiveness of AI literacy efforts

Architecture Review Board (ARB) Participation and Representation: 
Function as a member of the campus ARB by participating in reviewing proposed technology solutions, making architectural recommendations, developing and documenting technical standards or patterns, and leading specific design and/or architecture decision-making efforts. This includes being temporarily assigned to specific projects or teams to lead and facilitate an architectural or technical design decision, or transfer domain specific technical knowledge to the team.
