JOB TITLE: Facilities Maintenance Technician                            DATE: 4/2026

 

 

REPORTS TO:  Facilities Maintenance Supervisor                       STATUS:  Non-Exempt

JOB SUMMARY

Under general supervision, performs a variety of general maintenance duties which include minor electrical, plumbing, mechanical, carpentry, and construction in the maintenance and repair of LPP facilities and equipment.

 

DAILY SUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:  

 

  1. Complete maintenance work orders as assigned and in a timely manner.
  2. Identify and perform basic service and repair on plumbing fixtures; open clogged lines and drains.
  3. Identify and assist with carpentry and repair work.
  4. Operate a variety of machinery, equipment and tools including saws, router, drills, sanders, planers, drill presses and various hand tools.
  5. Maintain inventory of tools, supplies, and equipment; recommend tools, supplies, and equipment for purchase.
  6. Perform a variety of locksmith duties; install, repair, and replace locks on doors.
  7. Inspect, service, and maintain operational functionality of doors and windows.
  8. Basic ability to read, interpret and work from blueprints, drawings, or oral instruction on a variety of structures.
  9. Assist with moving loading, unloading and storing supplies, furniture and equipment.
  10. Occasional adjustment of hours and/or weekend work may be required and/or occasional overtime.
  11. Communicate effectively in a professional, tactful, and courteous manner with fellow employees, and the general public.
  12. Performs other miscellaneous work-related duties as assigned.
  1. Skill in using a personal computer and various software applications, including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook. 

 

 

REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION:

  1. Facility maintenance or similar mechanical experience.
  2. MUST be comfortable and experienced utilizing hand and power tools of all varieties.
  3. MUST have basic knowledge and safety understanding of electrical components. 
  4. MUST wear correct job specific PPE as designated by company policy.
  5. MUST know how to accurately use and read a tape measure as well as industrial blueprints.
  6. MUST be able to pass required physical including demonstrating your ability to lift the required weight for each position.
  7. MUST be able to stand and/or walk for entire 8-hour shift. 
  8. Ability to consistently practice and enforce safe working habits. 
  9. Ability to recognize safety risks and comply with all safety standards. 
  10. Ability to operate a forklift, scissors lift, or any other powered equipment or machinery as needed.
  11. Ability to communicate in a courteous and professional manner with all plant employees, as well as third party vendors and contractors.

 

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  1. Three years of working experience in facilities maintenance, including knowledge in electrical and HVAC.
  2. Higher education in carpentry, HVAC, electrical work, or related fields.
