Responsibilities:
SWOT Team Description: You will work directly with the Office of Orientation and Transitions and Student Affairs staff and serve as the face of AUM for new students and their families during Orientation Sessions and Campus Events. While a part of SWOT, you will be provided with a great opportunity to build leadership skills, network with your peers and faculty/staff, and make a difference in the life of a new AUM student.
- Maintain a positive attitude and represent the university in a professional manner
- Attend Friday training sessions through May, as well as Spring, Summer, and Fall 2026 Orientation sessions
- Work as a team with fellow SWOT Team members and be willing to take direction from SWOT Force Leaders
- Be on time and work all orientation sessions and set-up days
- Assist with setup, facilitating, and breakdown of campus events
- Assist with office work in the Student Affairs Department at least 5 hours per week during peak seasons, and at least 2 hours a week during the year on top of mandatory trainings
- Assist in orientation communications including making orientation phone calls to admitted students, post-orientation engagement processes, and helping engage on social medial platforms
- Register admitted students for orientation sessions
- Facilitate small group sessions during orientation
- Lead campus tours
- Be creative when engaging in planning for orientation and interacting with new students and parents
- Be engaged and fully present where you are at all times

- Must be a currently enrolled student at Auburn University at Montgomery with a minimum 2.5 GPA. This position requires work outside of university business hours (8am-5pm, M-F), including evenings, early mornings, and weekends.
- Ability to follow directions from supervisors and staff members directly and indirectly associated to the Office of Orientation and Transitions
- Time management skills to balance school, work, and personal lives
