Job Description

Our talented staff of more than 650+ professionals deliver integrated planning, design, engineering and construction solutions.

Due to MSG's continued growth, a new opening is available for a Civil Project Manager to assist with our projects in Cleveland, OH! 

Key Responsibilities


Project Management & Leadership
  • Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, and resources, ensuring alignment with client expectations and organizational standards.
  • Oversee the full lifecycle of civil engineering projects, from early planning and feasibility through design, permitting, and execution.
  • Coordinate with clients, regulatory agencies, subconsultants, and internal teams, ensuring clear communication and timely decision‑making.
  • Prepare proposals, scopes of work, fee estimates, and contract documents for new and ongoing projects.
  • Monitor project progress, track milestones, and ensure on‑time delivery of design packages and submittals.
  • Lead project meetings, maintain documentation, and proactively identify and resolve project risks or issues.
Technical Oversight & Quality Control
  • Provide technical direction for site design, stormwater management, and utility design across a variety of project types.
  • Conduct quality control reviews of engineering plans, reports, and calculations prepared by the project team.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as internal QA/QC standards.
  • Support and guide permitting efforts, including preparation of submittals, responses to review comments, and coordination with approving authorities.
Team Development & Collaboration
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers and designers, providing technical feedback, training, and professional development support.
  • Collaborate closely with senior engineers, discipline leads, and CAD staff to deliver coordinated, high‑quality design packages.
  • Foster a collaborative team environment that supports innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.


Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • 10+ years of civil engineering experience, with increasing responsibility.
  • Demonstrated experience managing civil/site development and/or municipal projects.
  • Strong proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D and common engineering design tools.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and multi‑disciplinary teams.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
PREFERED SKILLS
  • Professional Engineering License (preferred) 
  • Experience with Michigan municipal standards, agency permitting, and development review processes.
  • Knowledge of hydrologic/hydraulic modeling tools (HEC‑RAS, SWMM, HydroCAD, etc.).
  • Experience working directly with private developers, commercial clients, and municipal departments.
