Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION
Title: Senior BI Engineer

Join a team of BI engineers who are passionate about creating a data driven. The primary responsibilities include creation, implementation and maintenance of  data integration, data conversion, data modelling and analytics solutions for the various the initiatives/analytics challenges presented for both on prem and on cloud platforms. Responsibilities also include building a single source of truth for PC data in a central warehouse and implementing quality processes to ensure data accuracy, integrity, consistency, and compliance.

ACCOUNTABILITIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Leverage strong analytical, data engineering, and problem-solving skills to identify and deliver actionable insights 
  • Create data mappings, transformations and data pipelines using data integration tools from heterogenous sources
  • Build and maintain  data models, relationships to enable data access, reporting, integrity, and quality.
  • Apply Business Intelligence, Structures Query Language, System Analysis, design, development and OLAP to develop lean and high-performance analytics
  • Develop and maintain data models, relationships to enable data access, reporting, integrity, and quality.
  • Implement data analytics initiatives by working with the Agile team to satisfy stakeholder expectations and the needs of the organization.
  • Conduct performance tuning, fault tolerance and security compliance
  • Create and maintain data quality processes and monitoring
  • Identify gaps in data and implement corrective measures
  • Translate business requirements into technical requirements and document processes and procedures for BI functionalities
  • Test, debug and apply fixes during pre and post launch 
  • Provide support for BI applications and tools
  • Participate actively in Agile SCRUM stand ups, backlog refinements and retrospectives
  • Partner with teams across the organization to build, establish and deliver analytics solutions

SKILLS & CERTIFICATIONS

  • Experience in Talend for creating Tasks, Subject Areas, Execution Plans, performance tuning and execution. Skills in Informatica Power Center and DAC is a plus
  • Skilled  in SQL and Oracle PL/SQL 
  • Experience with report development (Analysis/BI Publisher), interactive Dashboards , security Setup (roles/groups, access / query/report privileges) using OAS/OBIEE/MicroStrategy. APEX is a plus.
  • Experience in OLAP data modelling, design and data optimization is a plus
  • Background in Oracle data sources. Having experience in cloud data sources is a plus
  • Experience in S3 and AWS Redshift development and implementation is a plus
  • Strong communication skills and a high degree of self-motivation
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to translate data-driven insights and customer needs into business recommendations and solutions
  • Certifications in Talend, Informatica, Oracle, AWS or MicroStrategy are a plus.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Systems
  • 2+ years   experience required.  For internal candidates, experience can be a combination of internal and external experience.
  • Expertise in implementing Talend and creating Tasks, Subject Areas, Execution Plans, performance tuning and execution. (7+ yrs.). Skills in Informatica Power Center and DAC is a plus
  • Extensive experience working with various sources like Oracle or cloud databases 
  • Strong skills in SQL and Oracle PL/SQL (7+ yrs.)
  • Skilled in data modelling, design and data optimization (5+ yrs.)
  • Experience with report development (Analysis/BI Publisher), interactive dashboards , security setup (roles/groups, access / query/report privileges) using OBIEE/OAS/MicroStrategy (7+ yrs.). APEX is a plus
  • Experience in S3 and AWS Redshift development and implementation is a plus
  • Strong communication skills and a high degree of self-motivation
  • Skilled in learning new tools and implementing solutions
  • Ability to work 4 or more overlap hours with the onsite team
