The Clinical Resource Leader - RN has delegated responsibility for our standard methodology for product evaluations and clinician engagement utilizing quality and clinical evidence criteria. The individual combines a business case (financial benefits) and clinical analysis (qualitative benefits) to drive informed decisions about product efficacy, safety, and cost which result in an optimal formulary. This value analysis process always encompasses supply items; however, could extend to purchased services, capital equipment, service agreements, professional services, and all other goods and services which require the execution of a signed contract. This individual collaborates with key internal departments across the network such as purchasing, finance, accounts payable, and legal affairs, as well as all end user departments to review their business needs and translate them into an optimal formulary.
Responsibilities
- Manages the Margins on Medicare Patient Care Services value analysis team to implement targeted annual cost savings goals with a focus on reducing the number of SKUs by standardization, increase product quality, evaluate processes and introduction of new products.
- Uses the following software to provide analytics: Lawson, MS Excel, ECRI Benchmark Data. Uses the following software to communicate effectively with peers, senior leadership, vendors, etc: MS Office.
- Understands and manages RepTrax (Vendor Management Software) to ensure Vendors are compliant with policy and procedures.
- Facilitates and / or participates in the implementation of all MedAssets cost savings initiatives.
- Meets with and manages vendor relationship on product selection for our healthcare organization to include engaging appropriate internal stakeholders in arriving at the best clinical outcome for our patients and communities served.
- Serves as the corporate conduit for all clinically based supply chain decisions on products with a goal to facilitate the standardization of products used in patient care in both acute and non-acute facilities.
- Monitors utilization and identifies waste in clinical supply chain.
- Maintains and communicates financial and performance measurements as gauge of standardization/utilization success.
- Actively participates, communicates and educates (works with unit-specific educators) all affected departments, physicians, and medical management personnel regarding product and procedure changes.
- Collaborate with physicians in identifying and implementing improvements and standardization.
- Promotes effective working relations and works closely with our MedAssets Client Management resource to facilitate Baptist Health Care’s and MedAsset’s guaranteed savings goals and objectives.
Qualifications
Minimum Education
- Associates Degree Nursing Required or
- Technical Diploma/Certificate Nursing Required
Minimum Work Experience
- 5 years clinical experience Required
- 2 years work experience conducting product evaluation, cost-benefit analysis and financial feasibility studies or similar work. Required
Licenses and Certifications
- Registered Nurse Licensed State of Florida or eligible compact state Upon Hire Required
