DODD MIDDLE SCHOOL: GRADE 7-8

Cheshire Public Schools has an opening for a English Language Arts Teacher in our Middle School (grades 7-8) for the 2026/2027 school year.  We hope that you consider applying.

Description:
An exciting opportunity for an individual who possesses excellent interpersonal skills, high energy level, creativity and the ability to work with all levels of students. Must demonstrate a thorough knowledge of, and the ability to teach all students reading, writing, speaking and listening skills in a heterogeneous, teamed academic environment.  The ability to create a positive, enthusiastic, dynamic classroom atmosphere implementing cooperative learning and participation in classroom activities is necessary.

Qualifications:
Connecticut Teaching Certificate #015 OR #215 and expertise in appropriate curriculum. Dual certifications in Core areas strongly preferred

Salary:
In accordance with the Agreement Between the Cheshire Board of Education and the Education Association of Cheshire.

Benefit:
Children of a teacher who does not reside in Cheshire may attend the Cheshire Public Schools so long as the teacher continues to teach in Cheshire and pays 50% of the published regular education tuition cost, plus any additional costs incurred by the District regarding their child.
