Job Title: Work Instructor

Job Type: Full-Time, Hourly (Non-Exempt)


Job Summary: Arkansas Enterprises for the Developmentally Disabled (AEDD) is seeking a dependable and compassionate Work Instructor to support adults with developmental disabilities in a structured work and training environment. This role focuses on helping individuals build vocational, social, and daily living skills while ensuring safety, quality, and productivity in assigned work activities.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and support participants in on-site work and training activities
  • Ensure a safe environment and monitor participant well-being at all times
  • Assist individuals in meeting production goals while maintaining quality standards
  • Provide group and individual instruction in vocational and life skills
  • Track and document daily progress, goals, and production outcomes
  • Maintain accurate records, including work sheets, billing, and transportation logs
  • Assist with time studies and work setup for subcontracted tasks
  • Support implementation of individual program plans (IPP) and goals
  • Supervise participants during breaks and lunch periods
  • Transport participants to and from the facility as needed
  • Assist with basic vehicle upkeep and documentation

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Experience in human services or working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred
  • Valid Arkansas Driver's License
  • Ability to pass background checks and drug screening (safety-sensitive position)
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Commitment to professionalism, confidentiality, and quality service

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to assist individuals as needed in a work/training environment
  • Comfortable working in a moderately active environment and traveling locally

Additional Requirements:

This is a safety-sensitive position. Employees must not be impaired while working and must comply with all drug and alcohol policies in accordance with Arkansas law.
