Holbrook Elementary is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a 1st Grade Teacher. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the educational standards and cater to the diverse learning needs of students.
- Create a nurturing classroom environment that encourages student participation, curiosity, and respect.
- Assess and monitor student progress through various evaluation methods, providing feedback and support as needed.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and support staff to promote student learning and well-being.
- Integrate technology and innovative teaching methods into the curriculum to enhance student engagement.
- Maintain a safe and organized classroom that promotes a positive learning atmosphere.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices and strategies.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, classroom activities, and any concerns.
- Uphold school policies and procedures while fostering a sense of community within the classroom and school.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or a related field.
- Valid teaching certification for elementary education (specific to the state of employment).
- Experience working with young children, preferably in a classroom setting.
- Strong knowledge of child development and effective teaching strategies for early learners.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports diverse learners.
- Proficiency in using technology for educational purposes and classroom management.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous improvement in teaching practices.
