Position Summary:


The Intramural supervisor is responsible for the overall supervision of Intramural Sport activities, officials, and scorekeepers while s/he is on duty. Additionally, the Intramural Supervisor is responsible for enforcing all rules and policies established for the Intramural Program. Any problems, questions, or complaints from Intramural participants or personnel should be directed to the Intramural Supervisor.

Essential Functions:
• Supervise the day-to-day operation of the Intramural program according to official operating procedures. Ensure that Intramural activities begin and end at scheduled times.
• See that all Intramural staff members are present and at their assigned area when they are scheduled to work. This includes any set-up or tear-down that needs to be completed. If not present, the Intramural Supervisor will report this absence in a shift report.
• Follow SRWC emergency procedures when managing emergency situations. The Intramural cell phone and AED should be taken to outdoor and off-campus playing sites.
• Assist in recruiting, training and evaluating Intramural Officials
• Be familiar with all aspects of the Intramural Program and the facilities utilized by the program
• Complete the Intramural supervisor report and make sure all supporting documentation, such as score sheets, injury reports, incident forms, demerit forms, etc., are completed correctly.
• Complete appropriate SRWC forms, providing as much detail as possible; indicating any injuries, incidents, malfunctions or abnormalities in the operation of the Intramural Program.
• Assist in implementing at least one officials training and continue to work officiating shifts


Non-Essential Functions:
• Manage all questions, problems, and complaints received from Intramural participants and personnel
• Inspect Intramural sports equipment prior to, and immediately following, all Intramural events
• Review and ensure all Intramural policies, rules, and regulations are being followed by participants and personnel
• Make sure all Intramural personnel have the necessary equipment needed to perform their duties
• Be familiar with emergency telephone numbers: Topeka Fire and Police Departments - 911
• Be familiar with telephone numbers and other pertinent data regarding University departments related to the operation of the SRWC: Washburn Police - 1153, Student Life - 2100
• Assist in implementing at least one officials training and continue to work officiating shifts


Required Qualifications:
Intramural officiating experience
• Human relations and interpersonal communication skills necessary to effectively express ideas and policies to patrons and personnel
• Ability to assert authority to peers, faculty, staff, and other members of the Washburn community
• Availability to work early morning, night and/or weekend hours
• Conflict resolution and Decision making skills
• Reliability
• Ability to accept and give constructive criticism
