Position Overview 

The Head of Architecture will oversee the architectural vision, planning, and execution of projects, ensuring innovative, sustainable, and functional designs that meet the needs of our communities. This role is accountable for reviewing all plans, providing markups and guidance, etc. This role will also shape and refine the firm’s architectural culture, design standards, and long‑term innovation roadmap.  

Key Responsibilities: 

• Define and implement architectural strategies that align with the company’s vision for innovative and sustainable developments. 
• Lead design process for new developments, from concept to completion, ensuring adherence to budget, timelines, and regulatory requirements. 
• Build, mentor, and manage a team of architects, designers, and consultants to deliver exceptional results. 
• Work closely with internal teams to ensure seamless integration of design and functionality. 
• Champion environmentally conscious design practices, incorporating energy efficiency and sustainable materials into projects. 
• Liaise with clients, consultants, and municipal authorities to present designs, secure approvals, and address concerns. 
• Establish and enforce firm‑wide architectural standards, guidelines, and best practices. 
• Oversee architectural standards and ensure compliance with building codes, zoning laws, and industry regulations. 
• Lead adoption of emerging design technologies, digital workflows, and visualization tools. 

Requirements: 

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Architecture or a related field   
• Licensed Architect (OAA preferred or eligible for licensure in Ontario) 
• 10+ years of progressive architectural experience, including leading complex, largescale projects 
• 10+ years of experience in leadership 
• Exceptional working knowledge of job costs, scheduling practices, and Ontario Building Code 
• Proven expertise in large-scale residential, commercial, or mixed-use developments 
• Experience integrating sustainable design practices, Ontario Building Code, and zoning requirements 
• Skilled in project management, problem-solving, and decision-making 
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities to collaborate with diverse stakeholders 
• Proficiency in architectural software (e.g. AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp) and familiarity with construction methodologies
